Duke of Kent presents medals to long-serving RNLI members

THE Duke of Kent spent Wednesday 11 May visiting Jersey in what was the first day of his latest tour of the Channel Islands.

The Queen’s first cousin, who is president of the RNLI, presented three RNLI volunteers with long-service awards, met the crew members of the St Catherine’s lifeboat, who gave him a tour of their boathouse, and also visited Le Braye, in St Ouen’s Bay, where RNLI lifeguards conducted a mock rescue on the shoreline.
