Addressing the Lieutenant-Governor and his wife
Specific protocols exist to ensure appropriate respect for the Lieutenant-Governor as His Majesties personal representative.
When you address the Lieutenant-Governor in person use ‘Your Excellency’.
When you refer to the Lieutenant-Governor always use ‘His Excellency’.
Address or refer to the wife of the Lieutenant-Governor as ‘Dr Kyd’.
When the Lieutenant-Governor and wife are together, address them as ‘Your Excellency and Dr Kyd’.
The Lieutenant Governor is always pronounced ‘lef´ten-ent gov´er-ner’.

If you’re writing to the Lieutenant-Governor, use his full title ‘His Excellency Vice Admiral Jeremy Kyd CBE’.
Proper salutation: Your Excellency
Proper closing: Yours sincerely
