Medal Presentation

Two long-serving honorary police officers from the Parish of St Brelade and St Martin were honoured at a ceremony at Government House last week. His Excellency presented the volunteers with either the Honorary Police Long and Meritorious Service Medal, given when officers have served more than 12 years or a “bar” to that medal showing that they have spent more than 21 years working for the organisation.

His Excellency also presented Neil Vallois with the “Member of St John Medal”. The Member of The Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem is an honour only bestowed upon deserving members who have demonstrated loyalty and service to the organisation. The order was incorporated by Royal Charter during the reign of Queen Victoria.
