His Excellency took part in the Gurka Welfare Trust Climbathon at Mont Orgueil Castle, Gorey to raise money for Nepal. He joined the Appleby Team and with the combined three teams of Appleby, Army Cadets and Crossfit Gym, they climbed the castle enough times to match the height of Everest which is 8,848 metres, just over 29,000 feet.
The money raised will be used to build a school and medical centre in Nepal, which is still recovering from last year’s earthquake.
